It started with a long pile of people waiting to get inside. Then the rain somehow fell. Still, the long line is there.
There's no stopping this party to get started.
It's been a yearly ritual for the FHM Nation to gather at the World Trade Center at Gil Puyat, Pasay City to witness the gorgeous looking ladies we have in the country.
That's how many of us call the conclusion of the recently Manny Pacquiao versus Timothy Bradley fight that took place at the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino yesterday.
The fight is a clone of what took place at the WWF during the Bret Hart versus Shawn Michaels championship bout tagged as the "Montreal Screwjob" where current WWF champion Bret Hart was stripped of his title without his knowledge. Vince McMahon, the WWF owner, interfered in the match stating that Bret Hart did tapped out when locked in the "Sharpshooter" submission hold by Michaels. The main reason behind the "fix" is that Bret Hart, who at that time is the company's biggest asset, is already living the stables of WWF to join the rival WCW. Shawn Michaels at that point is a rising star.
Going back to boxing, how are the stories related?
Bob Arum, Top rank's promoter, wants to be Vince McMahon.
Manny Pacquiao's contract with Top Rank will expire in 2013. This would allow him to test the waters in terms of negotiations later on with either promotions. At the event that Pacquiao is leaving, if he chooses to, nothing will be left for Arum. Bradley on the other hand, rises at the right place at the right time. With his undefeated record, beating Pacquiao will boost his ratings.
Arum is at his drawing board right now. Planning the timeline for his million-dollar business for the next three years. With the guaranteed rematch on November, revenue is secured with what the fiasco created. Expectations of the return of the Pacman brawler is heavily anticipated with everyone waiting for a Bradley knockout. Of course this would also guarantee another rematch by May or June 2013 to complete the trilogy. That is if Pacquiao re-signs with Top Rank for 2013.
What if he doesn't?
While everyone is expecting the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight to materialize when Manny leaves Top Rank since both fighters can negotiate at their own free will, its not going to happen. Instead, Arum is ready to pull the trigger and shutdown the Pacman era by doing another fix at the November fight. He can then present the biggest card in boxing with Mayweather versus Bradley for 2013, Undefeated vs. Undefeated. It is possible with Bradley's ratings boosting up by defeating Pacquiao twice, even via whatever.
Everyone sees it. Viewers aren't stupid. What took place yesterday is definitely bad for the sport but not for the business. It just makes me wonder why the hell am I seeing Mayweather previously in WWE. Who again are those two judges who were believed to be blind? C.J Ross and Jerry Roth? Makes me think about Good Old Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler calling the fight. So wrestling if you're a fanatic during the attitude era.
Come November fight, what I'll be looking at is if Pacquiao signed an extension with Top Rank or not. From there, I can predict the verdict. No need to waste time for twelve-rounds.
According to Webster, clutch is defined as a tough or critical situation.
In the case of LeBron James •@kingjames•, the word clutch is only brought up whenever his team lose. Does being clutch means less than 24 seconds on the clock with the game tied or the opponent leading? He made it against the Orlando Magic with 0.3 seconds remaining hitting a game winning three-pointer for the Cleveland Cavaliers right? But still, he's capability is still questioned.
Some of us basically look at LeBron only at one side. The part where he passes the ball in the dying seconds of the game to an open man to take the shot. We often shout while watching him to shoot the ball even with two or three defender's hand at his face. Now I ask you, how much do you understand basketball?
Face it. Whether he pass or miss the shot, you will still criticize him.
We usually forget the essence of the game. The fundamentals of teamwork that brought the 1996-1998 Chicago Bulls or the recently eliminated San Antonio Spurs to greatness. Basketball is a team sport and doing your role in the team is your job. LeBron is not a scorer in this team. He is the leader.
45-15-5.
Points. Rebounds. Assists.
Another game we will be watching during the LeBron highlight reel at his hall of fame induction.
Its easy to direct a game while you're watching on your couch eating popcorn and drinking beer. Its different when you're out there, having thousands of fans screaming at you in the arena and millions watching at home. Come on. Put yourself in his shoes and knock down those fade aways and win a game. Again, being clutch is yourself in a critical situation. Playing beyond your limits in an elimination game is clutch. Forty plus minutes of nerve-breaking basketball hitting down 30 points at the half missing only two attempts is clutch. If we are talking fairly in this matter.
I know its early for this write up and this post will have a dozen of negative comments if the Heat gets eliminated. We still have a game 7 on sunday here in the Philippines. We are only almost 3/4 of the way done with Durantula watching at his pad. LeBron can still as some may call it be LeChoke. But who cares, its not always his fault. Its the whole teams fault if they lose.

It's been a week since the Wrestlemania of fashion in the Philippines. From our home-grown designers to Leighton Meester and then to the America's Next Top Models, the Internet scene has gone crazy because of the success of this event.
Our buddy Jinggo Inoncillo was commended by a couple of broadsheets and magazines for his fabulous collection that would most likely be visible in the stream in the near future. Oh and did we mention that Ms. Dominique Reighard visited our blog? She even posted the stills we took in her fashion show which can be seen here.
It's a wrap for this marvelous event. See you in the Spring/Summer for 2012.
The write ups keep on coming. They are like amoeba spreading. From blogsites to magazines then to broadsheets, truly Philippine Fashion Week's collection for holiday is one of the most looked at among the bunch. And of course, our very own Jinggo Inoncillo is very much appreciated.
Read the write up here. Or better yet grab a copy for memorabilia.
